Bondi Beach Baby

The famous Bondi Beach, we’ve all heard of it one way or another and it is exactly as you would expect. This health focused beachside suburb is iconic. From the skate parks which border the sea to the Bondi Iceburgs Sea Pool, it definitely lived up to expectations!

The Beach

With the sheer amount of surfers it feels straight out of ‘Bondi Rescue’.

Sunrise at Bondi Beach is absolutely breathtaking, rising in the east of the bay, you are able to see all the vivid colours of a classic Aussie sunrise. As the sun makes its journey, the surfers begin to congregate to catch their morning waves before work. This really did feel like a movie!

The Town

Based on its surf culture, the vibe here Bondi town is effortlessly cool and lovely, with loads of cafes and restaurants lining the streets and it is perfect for locals and tourists alike.

My favourite spots:

Harry’s Bondi:

I couldn’t tell you about my favourite cafes without mentioning Harry’s Bondi. It has been all over TikTok as it became famous for serving  their iced drinks and smoothies in translucent cans. Naturally, we had to pick and iced late and an avo toast for breakfast after watching the sunrise.

Salty’s:

Salty’s Bondi is great for an affordable lunch. A 5 minute walk from the beach, Salty’s offers everything you could want whilst also staying in the backpacker budget. I had the calamari salad and it was so tasty - I would defo recommend it.

The Hikes

Maroubra to Coogee walk:

This 4km hike shows you all you could need of this section of coastline as well as a peak into some of the impressive houses which hug it. It is a breeze getting to the start of this walk via bus from both Sydney and Bondi. The trail is fairly flat throughout, except one section which involves climbing over rocks and dodging some of the larger waves! We were lucky enough to see a small pod of dolphins swim by, which totally made my day.

Coogee to Bondi walk:

Beginning at Coogee Pavillion, this 8km walk to Bondi Beach is definitely more of a workout than the Maroubra to Coogee walk due to its more milly surroundings and longer distance. The biggest reward on this walk was seeing the famous Bondi Icebergs glistening in the midday sun.

Walking is absolutely the best way to soak in the sunshine whilst doing a little bit of exercise.
